Sundays in Savannah

This afternoon, we broke out the Fiat and drove over to the Telfair Museum to check out their new exhibit, "Modern Masters from the Smithsonian." Afterward, we were craving Savannah's finest pizza from Vinnie Van Go-Go's.

Vinnie's pie is New York-style, thin and crispy, served by the slice or by the whole pizza. They also serve calzones and spinach salads with a wide variety of toppings. A word to Vinnie's virgins, however: the pizza is best eaten in the restaurant, not taken out, and they accept cash only.

Although my grandfather once said "you can't eat atmosphere," the ambiance at Vinnie's should be savored along with their culinary treats.
